Our Story
Founded in 2014 as a social enterprise of The Kennedy Collective, the Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative has a rich history of fostering artistic expression and empowerment for individuals with disabilities.
The Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative Day Programs are designed for artists with disabilities who are ready to take the step to full participation in the arts – both independently and collectively – with peer artists, and artists in the community.
MDAC Day Support programs provide a nurturing art space that serves as a true cooperative for creative exploration, offering participants the tools and support they need to express themselves as individuals and visual artists. With the freedom to experiment with diverse media and techniques, each participant’s unique artistic voice emerges, expressed through vivid color stories, textured surfaces, scale, and dynamic imagery. MDAC artists immerse themselves deeply in the process, discovering their creativity through intuition and experimentation.

Artists draw inspiration from nature, still life, and source images, expressing themselves through charcoal, ink, pastel, and paint sticks in both abstract and representational forms. Magic happens when an artist connects with a medium, sparking excitement and collaboration among co-artists, creating a vibrant dialogue that showcases their skill and intention.

MDAC painters explore unfamiliar scales and tools, from wire to sumi ink, embracing new ways to express their unique styles while continuing to refine and expand their artistic voices.

From printmaking to weaving, MDAC artists are embracing new techniques and refining their skills, with conceptual art and photo transfer adding fresh layers to their creative journeys.

The Maggie Daly Arts Cooperative is a Day Support program designed for artists with disabilities who are ready to take the step to full participation in the arts – both independently and collectively – with peer artists, and artists in the community. The candidates should have a strong commitment and interest in art, and a sincere desire to engage in the art-making process.
